Over-stove air cleaners (cooker hoods) by Elica. Warranty Conditions, service life

1. PECULARITIES OF COOKER HOODS OPERATING MODES.
Air cleaner is mostly efficient in exhaust mode. The savings from non-requirement to purchase replacement carbon filters  in this mode can cover the cost of installing an exhaust duct.
Let's consider the available modes in detail.
 
 
RECIRCULATION MODE
The carbon filter can be installed in the air cleaner which operates in the recirculation mode. Herewith, in freely installable models the mode change lever must be in position F (filter). There are two kinds of carbon filters – standard and filter of prolonged use. Carbon filters absorb much of the odor, smoke and fumes produced during cooking. Service life of a standard carbon filter is 160 hours (when using the hood).
After this period (an average of 3-4 months of use), the filter must be replaced. Service life of filter of prolonged use is 36 months, after which filter also must be replaced. Please note that in this mode, the moisture is not removed from the premises, so in case of any condensation take care of installation of the duct to remove moist air.
 
EXHAUST MODE
When working in a exhaust mode the mode change lever of freely mounted models must be in position A (hood). For efficient operation of air cleaner it is important that the duct connected to the outlet at the rear or upper side of the air cleaner has a diameter corresponding to the diameter of the outlet.
 
2. THE FILTERS USED TOGETHER WITH COOKER HOODS INCLUDE DISPOSABLE GREASE FILTERS
Disposable grease filters are are aimed at 30 hours of use (during operation of a cooker hood) and require replacement on average once per month, regardless of the operating mode of an air cleaner.
METAL GREASE FILTERS
Effective service life of metal grease filters is 30 hours (when using the hood). After this time (on average 1-2 times per month) filters must be washed in a dishwasher or by hand using a liquid detergent. When washing the filters do not use abrasive detergents and those with chlorine.
 
3. TERMS OF WARRANTY
All household cooker hoods of Elica are covered by warranty period of 1 year (2 years - on motors) from the date of purchase, during which, in case of any disrepair found, our authorized service centers repair  it for free (including work and replacement of spare parts).
During the warranty period, the customer also has the right to meet the other requirements stipulated by the current legislation of the Russian Federation.
Condition of free replacement during the warranty period does not apply to expendable items such as filters and backlights.
Free service during the warranty period is made on condition that date of purchase is confirmed, and when the item is properly installed. These guarantee conditions are valid in the territory of the Russian Federation and apply to all products sold and installed in this area.
 
4. IF THERE ARE ANY PROBLEMS
If your air cleaner Elica is not working, make sure that all the fuses are in good condition and there is voltage on the network. Check the connection of your air cleaner. If it works in the exhaust mode, the duct cross-section must match the value specified in the instruction manual. Make sure that all carbon and disposable grease filters were replaced on time, and cleaning of metal filters was done.
If after all the checks carried out the air cleaner still does not work, please contact one of our authorized service centers. Please note that if the product does not work for one of these reasons or the warranty period has expired, repairs will be payable.
 
5. NON-WARRANTY CASES
The following works are not guaranteed and are not covered by the warranty: a) installation of the product, including assembly, connection or modification of wiring; b) implementation of additional electrical connections; c) instruction for use of the product; d) troubleshooting service caused by failure to comply with the manual; e) troubleshooting service caused by using the product for purposes other than residential; f) troubleshooting service caused by using the product for other purposes; g) elimination of damages arising during transportation; h) troubleshooting service caused by improper environmental conditions (e.g., temperature), force majeure or external causes (e.g., irregular supply voltage, lightning, etc.), natural disasters, etc.; i) repair of damages if any unskilled intervention, self-repair and modernization are found; j) repair of cosmetic and mechanical defects that do not affect functionality of equipment and its safety; k) use of air duct with diameter less than specified in operation manual and if any obstacles to the free passage of air in the channel are present; l) loss of marketable condition due to the use of chemical or abrasive substances; m) replacement of consumables (light bulbs, carbon filters), and some other control elements.
 
6. service life
The purchased cooker hood has service life of 10 years at an average time of daily use. This term also refers to the engine subject to regular maintenance, prescribed by operation manual. This statement does not apply to wearing parts such as light bulbs, filters, some of controls, etc.
